The results of the Hidden Meadow Community Foundation (HMCF) fundraising campaign for 2017 are now in — over $17,500 was raised to support a variety of activities that benefit our wonderful community! To all who have made a donation, thank you!

Those charitable funds, combined with a one-time transfer of $19,246 from the former ARO, will make it possible for the Foundation to begin to work on exciting new projects like the median beautification.

The Foundation Board of Directors is planning to budget $24,000 for the fiscal year running from June 1, 2017 to May 31, 2018.

The biggest allocation will be $15,000 for the initial phase of re-landscaping the two medians at the entrance to the community on Mountain Meadows Road. Allocations for the other Foundation priority areas are as follows:

$4,000 for scholarships

$3,700 for community events such as the recent Easter Egg Hunt, the upcoming 4th of July celebration, Summer Movie Nights, etc.

$1,000 for “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” the fund used to provide resources for local families in crisis circumstances.

$2,000 for the general fund to be used for insurance and small expenses that arise.

The remaining funds (over $11,000) will be carried over to the following year, and will most likely be used to pay for completion of the median beautification project and maintenance.

The HMCF accepts donations every day of the year. If you haven’t made a tax-deductible donation and would still like to do so, please send a check to HMCF, 9856 Canyon Country Lane, Escondido, CA 92026, or you can visit www.hiddenmeadowsnews.com, choose “HM Foundation,” then “Click here to Donate’.
