Women’s social group celebrates Christmas

Community

‘Twasn’t the night before Christmas, but ten days before on Thursday, December 15 when the Hidden Meadows Women’s Social Group gathered at the Targia home to celebrate their December party.

Valerie Targia, the hostess, and a frequent participant of the Parade of Homes, had the house decorated to within an inch of its life. The living and dining rooms contained a nine-foot tree, twinkling lights, and elegant decorations in gold and silver. The family rooms were filled with Santas, and a whimsical Christmas tree with an impressive array of decorations collected from world travels.

The theme of the social was ugly Christmas sweaters, and a book exchange. 22 lovely ladies filled the house with reds, greens, sparkles and Santa hats, but not one of the supposedly ugly sweaters was actually ugly.

The book exchange proved to be very successful as books were passed in a circle to a lively rendition of Jingle Bells. A great way to pick up a new book.

The ladies of Hidden Meadows outdid themselves in the food department. An outstanding buffet of delicious hot and cold dishes brought many com- ments of “mm-mm good,” “yum,” and recipe exchanges.

It was a noisy, (well, what do you expect when 22 women get together?) fun-filled evening celebrating the season, and friendship. Great ambience, delicious food and wine, laughter and friendship. What more could you ask for? What a great community we have here in Hidden Meadows.

The Hidden Meadows Women’s Social Group (HMWSG) offers monthly gatherings in the homes of its members. It’s a wonderful way to get to know many friendly faces of our community. If you are interested in joining, contact Linda Collins at hmwsg92026@gmail.com.
