Three lucky students to benefit from community’s generosity

A huge “thank you” goes out to all of you who donated to the Hidden Meadows Community Foundation during this year’s fundraising campaign!  Several donations were earmarked directly for scholarships, and by combining those gifts with a small balance from the previous year, we will be able to award $1,000 scholarships to three very deserving high school graduates.

The Foundation’s scholarship awards are designed to help cover expenses associated with local high school students’ pursuit of higher education — whether it be at four-year college, community college or a trade school.  Applicants must reside in the Meadows, have achieved a high school GPA of 3.5 or better, submit a letter of recommendation from faculty at their current school, and write an essay on their educational objectives.

The three students selected for the 2017 scholarships have been notified.  Their names won’t be announced until June 11th, when they will be honored by the Foundation at a short reception.

The selection committee was very impressed by the applicants’ achievements and well-written essays.  Tune in to next month’s Hidden Meadows News to learn more about these wonderful young scholars.
