Hidden Meadows is ramping up for our annual Toys for Tots Drive & Breakfast

Community

Most of you have probably heard about Toys for Tots, a wonderful program run by the US Marine Corp Reserve that provides new toys to children who might not otherwise get a Christmas present due to family circumstance. What you may not know is that Hidden Meadows as a community has been supporting Toys for Tots for over 17 years and that we are one of the biggest contributors to the annual drive in North County. Each year, we typically collect between 8 to 10 full boxes of toys or over 300 individual items!
Toy Collection Boxes: During the month-long drive, we will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. Collection boxes for our area will be set up during the first week of November and will be available until November 30th. The boxes will be placed at the Meadows Deli, at all three Deer Springs Fire Stations, and in the pro shop/bar area of the Boulder Oaks Golf Clubhouse. We will also have a toy collection box out at the front of the clubhouse during the food drive on November 11 and at the Toys for Tots breakfast on December 2.
If you are unable to deliver your donations to a collection box, please contact Nancy Ogrod by calling at 760-749-7023 or e-mail at n.ogrod@yahoo.com.
Toys for Tots Breakfast: The Toys for Tots drive will culminate on December 2 with a fun, family style breakfast sponsored by the Hidden Meadow Community Foundation. The breakfast will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Hidden Meadows Pavilion, 28208 Meadow Glen Way West.
We expect Santa Claus to be making an appearance along with a firetruck provided by our local fire department. Please bring a new, unwrapped gift to donate. Afterwards, all of the toy collection boxes will be gathered up for the Marines, who will deliver the toys later that month to children in need.
We would love to have volunteers to help prepare and serve food and drinks at the breakfast. We would also welcome cash donations to put towards event food and supplies and a craft for the children. Please volunteer by contacting Andrea Goodwin at andreakgoodwin@gmail.com or (415) 933.7245.
