An Abundance of Smiles at Easter Egg Hunt
By Linda Shreve, Event Chair
The Easter Bunny stopped by Hidden Meadows on April 15 for the annual community Easter Egg Hunt. He was accompanied this year by the lovely Honey Bunny. When they arrived at the Pavilion, they were met by 139 children and 189 adults, all ready to have some good old-fashioned family fun.
Luckily, the Bunny had a crew of helpers that been working hard to ensure the event went off without a hitch. Twenty-two wonderful volunteers had stepped up for such important tasks as filling eggs, prepping crafts, baking cookies and cupcakes, and coordinating activities on the day of the event. An amazing 2,000 eggs filled with candy, coins and stickers were hidden in the early hours of the morning before the attendees arrived.
The event included a variety of games and crafts. Participating kids ranged in age from toddlers to preteens, and everyone left with smiles on their faces. Congrats to Alexandra Seeman, whose guess of 1074 malted milk balls in the jar was the exact number! The Easter Bunny had a blast and is definitely planning on coming back next year.
The annual Easter Egg hunt is just one of the many community events offered with support from the Hidden Meadows Community Foundation.
